The Asia Cold Chain Show Industry Forum was successfully organized in Bangkok on 8th April at Hotel Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok. 84 industry professionals, associations and media attended the event. The objective of this promotional event is to create awareness about ACCS among Thai industry.
“I am elated by the response we have received for Industry Forum in Bangkok. It was a perfect mix of prospective exhibitors, industry associations and trade media who attended the forum. There were around 45 prospective exhibitors in the audience and 7 booked their booths on site while remaining would join in soon. It was also an opportunity for industry players to network, as there are no other platforms for them to meet. I see this event as a curtain raiser of the main show to be held in July and a preview of how the gathering would look like. “, said Anuj Mathur, Managing Director, Manch Communications.
The event began with a welcome speech from organizers followed by a presentation on the concept, objective and planning of Asia Cold Chain Show. “As I mentioned in my speech, cold chain sector was considered as backend operations to transport perishable items till some time back. Consumer was not even aware of how the food they eat is being stored and transported. With more and more awareness being created for food safety and hygiene, cold chain operations now hold immense importance for both suppliers and consumers. Several developing countries are facing a severe problem of food wastage due to lack of proper and insufficient temperature controlled logistics operations. In coming time, governments would be forced to look into this sector as high priority for heavy and immediate investment. This topic was discussed in detail in the presentations and panel discussion at the Industry Forum.” added Mathur.
The agenda of industry forum also included a power point presentation on the landscape of cold chain sector in ASEAN region by Dr. Punnamee Sachakamol, Cold Supply Chain and Logistics Specialist, Kasetsart University. The presentation covered the overview of each of the ASEAN countries as well as the region together. It was followed by a panel discussion with a theme ‘Implementing best practices and handling challenges in ASEAN cold chain industry” and included Mr. Nattapume Pavaratn, Vice President Corporate Strategy, JWD InfoLogistics Public Co., Ltd., Mr. Wisak Kunasakullert, Assistant Vice President – Marketing, Betagro Food Co. Ltd., Dr. Chatrchai Tuongratanaphan, Director, Thai Retailer Association as panelist and was moderated by Dr. Sachakamol.
The event was concluded with a lucky draw where all the companies of exhibiting profile participated and the 1st prize was won by Bravo Racks, as a prize they won additional 9 sqm booth space. Following to this Thai Reefer Group stood as the 1st runner up, where they won one page color advert and one standee placement at event venue and finally as a second runner up it was JWD Group which won one page color advert in the show directory respectively.

Asia Cold Chain Show is scheduled from 22nd to 24th July at Impact Exhibition Centre, Bangkok, Thailand.
